Together with Banco dell'energia to combat energy poverty

As a Benefit Corporation, we are committed to contributing to the creation of shared value for the communities and local areas in which we operate, including through initiatives that promote social inclusion and tackle educational and energy poverty. In this regard, we share the values promoted by Fondazione Banco dell’energia Ente Filantropico and its mission to promote more inclusive access to energy for families experiencing economic and social hardship. The signing of the Manifesto “Together to tackle energy poverty” and our appointment to the Board of Directors of Fondazione Banco dell’energia confirm our commitment in this area.

  • “The collaboration with Banco dell'energia is another important step in the path that Plenitude has undertaken as a Benefit Corporation. Supporting the Foundation's initiatives once again confirms our commitment to combating energy poverty, promoting innovative solutions aimed at reducing consumption and managing energy collectively.”

  • Stefano Goberti - CEO of Plenitude

Areas of intervention

The initiatives that we support together with Banco dell'energia focus primarily on these areas:

Economic support and energy efficiency

These projects aim to support socially and economically vulnerable families and individuals, as well as third-sector organisations nationwide. Specifically, support actions include financial aid for paying energy bills from any provider, replacing light bulbs and old appliances with new high-efficiency ones, and training Domestic Energy Tutors (TED) to help beneficiaries reduce future costs through energy awareness and savings.

Creation of Renewable and Solidarity Energy Communities (ESRB)

Renewable and Solidarity Energy Communities (CERS) promote the production and use of energy from renewable sources, facilitating more equitable access and fostering social cohesion. The beneficiaries include associations, third-sector entities, and vulnerable families. Since 2023, through collaborations with various organizations—especially with Fondazione Con il Sud—we have contributed to the creation of CER un posto anche per te, La Cittadella Energetica, CERtamente Insieme, and Comunità Energetica e Solidale Casa del Fanciullo.

Many projects, one unique energy

Below are the projects we support as part of the “Financial support and energy efficiency” project

Change + Change energy-intensive appliances

This project, in collaboration with the Italian Red Cross (CRI), aims to support over 750 socially and economically vulnerable families in purchasing new generation appliances, providing dedicated support for transport, installation and the collection of old appliances. The initiative operates in 10 Italian municipalities (Benevento, Brescia, Cagliari, Caltanissetta, Civitavecchia, Giaveno, Giulianova, Lecce, Ronciglione-Sutri and Sesto San Giovanni) and involves 40 CRI volunteers trained to guide beneficiaries through energy saving education courses.

Energy for everyone: Plenitude's commitment alongside Banco dell’energia

At the sixth Plenary Assembly of the Banco dell’energia Foundation, new projects for 2025 were unveiled, along with updates on ongoing initiatives.

Every home is illuminated

Over 200 families are involved in the project, in collaboration with the Ernesto Pellegrini Foundation and the Giambellino Lorenteggio Community Fund (MI) which provides:

  • Direct support for families

through the payment of bills and the purchase of energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs.

  • Training of 20 operators

in energy saving and efficiency, certifying them as Domestic Energy Tutors.

  • Raising energy-saving awareness

through meetings with the inhabitants of the Giambellino Lorenteggio district.

  • Energy efficiency

with a dedicated speech at the headquarters of the Neighbourhood Laboratory.

Energy in the suburbs - Naples and Turin

"Energy in the Suburbs" aims to support 200 families experiencing energy poverty residing in the peripheral areas of Naples and Turin. In collaboration with Società San Vincenzo De Paoli, the project includes paying energy bills from any provider, initiating energy-saving education courses with DET - Domestic Energy Tutors, and implementing energy efficiency measures by replacing the most energy-intensive household appliances with high-efficiency alternatives, with the aim of helping reduce recipients’ energy consumption.

Conscious energy: know your consumption

In collaboration with Società San Vincenzo De Paoli, we support the "Conscious Energy" project in the municipalities of Como, Appiano Gentile and Morbegno, involving around 240 families. In particular, the initiative is aimed at:

  • Raising awareness around energy consumption and facilitating access to energy efficiency tools and solutions.

  • Supporting socially and economically vulnerable families in paying energy bills and finding efficient energy solutions.
