Future on charge

To ensure that our computers and smartphones run smoothly, they need batteries that can effectively store and release electrical energy.

Energy storage is becoming an increasingly important component of the energy transition, leading to the rapid growth of the global electricity storage market. According to BloombergNEF, in 2023 installations have reached 42 Gigawatts with a total capacity of 99 Gigawatt hours, double the amount recorded in 2022. This is only the start, as forecasts predict a cumulative total of 650 Gigawatts by 2030.

In this episode, Marco Scurati and guest Marco Congiatu from the Plenitude Renewable Development team explore how electricity produced from renewable sources is stored and transformed into energy for change.
