Eboli Isca Biomass

Biomass plant details

The biogas plant, located in the locality of Isca in the Municipality of Eboli (SA), is mainly fed by vegetable matrices (silomais, silotriticale, agro-industrial processing by-products) deriving from the agricultural cultivations carried out on the land (about 260 Ha) enslaved to the plant.

The aforementioned matrices are stored in storage trenches sized to allow an operating autonomy of more than one year.

The plant consists of:

  • A loading module with a capacity of about 60 tons, into which matrices are loaded to feed the two anaerobic digesters;
  • Two anaerobic digesters inside which special agitators driven by electric motors mix the matrix, which, suitably heated by the recovery heat from engine cooling, promotes the formation of biogas containing an average methane content of 55 percent;
  • A desulfurization tower used, through an entirely biological process, to remove H2S present in the biogas;
  • A biogas dehumidification system;
  • A safety flashlight that allows excess biogas to be burned if necessary;
  • A cogeneration module (engine/generator);
  • A final storage tank.
