Details of the Photovoltaic System
The facilities consist of 4 photovoltaic greenhouses, located in the Municipality of Crotone (KR). The greenhouses are permanently dedicated to agricultural fruit crops while the photovoltaic modules for electricity production are the construction elements of the roofs.
All the greenhouses have a double pitch, one facing south with fully integrated photovoltaic panel roofing and one facing north with mesh roofing. The structures are metal, anchored to the ground with a height at the eaves of 3 m and with removable seasonal closures.
They occupy a total area of about 7,000 square meters, are located at an altitude of 40 m above sea level, and each photovoltaic system has a capacity of about 500 kW.
The agricultural activity is focused on the production of lemons, crops suitable for the lighting characteristics of the greenhouses and typical of the Mediterranean district.
