Our commitment in the Iberian Peninsula

How we operate

We offer a distinctive business model in the Iberian market: Spain and Portugal represent, in line with our growth strategy, two of the main areas where we operate. To accelerate our expansion and implement our business, we entered the Iberian energy sector in 2021.

Renewables

In Spain, our renewable energy production focuses on solar and wind power, with several plants and projects continuously evolving across the territory.

  • 0.2 GW under construction

  • Over 2 GW in development

The Renopool photovoltaic project complex, consisting of a 130 MW plant (north block) and a 200 MW plant (south block), is one of our largest projects completed globally. The facilities, located across the Extremadura region, have a total installed capacity of 330 MW.

We have recently completed the installation of the 150 MW Caparacena plant in Granada, consisting of three photovoltaic parks of approximately 50 MW each. In addition, we have begun construction of the Villarino photovoltaic plant, which will have a future installed capacity of 220 MW and the Guillena solar park with a capacity of 230 MW.

We are also involved in offshore wind energy projects in Catalonia, Galicia, and the Canary Islands: in January 2024, we partnered with BlueFloat Energy and Sener Renewable Investments to develop projects in this area in the country. This consortium is a leader in offshore wind energy, with a total portfolio of approximately 1.25 GW of floating wind energy projects in Galicia (Nordés Park), Catalonia (Tramuntana Park), and the Canary Islands (Tarahal Park).

E-mobility

Our commitment also takes shape through the development of electric mobility: we offer charging solutions for both home and on-the-road use. We support our customers with On The Road charging services and a dedicated app, aiming to enhance accessibility and ease of use.
In this context, we signed an agreement with Autopistas del Atlántico to develop the first ultra-fast charging corridor along the AP-9 motorway in Galicia, one of the region’s main transport arteries. The project foresees the installation and operation of 42 ultra-fast charging points of up to 300 kW across 5 service areas, making a tangible contribution to the expansion of electric mobility and offering e-drivers increasingly efficient, widespread, and accessible solutions.
