How we operate

We offer a distinctive business model in the Iberian market: Spain and Portugal represent, in line with our growth strategy, two of the main areas where we operate. To accelerate our expansion and implement our business, we entered the Iberian energy sector in 2021.

In April 2024, construction began on the Renopool Park in Badajoz, set to become one of our largest photovoltaic projects globally. Completion is expected by 2025. The park will also be integrated into the national power grid through an advanced infrastructure comprising three connection nodes and a high-voltage line developed in collaboration with other sector operators. Along with the Guillena solar park in Andalusia, it will have a total installed capacity of about 250 MW.

We recently completed the installation of the Caparacena plant in Granada, with 150 MW of capacity consisting of three photovoltaic parks of approximately 50 MW each. Additionally, we began construction of the Villarino photovoltaic plant, with a future installed capacity of 220 MW.

We are also involved in offshore wind energy projects in Catalonia, Galicia, and the Canary Islands: in January 2024, we partnered with BlueFloat Energy and Sener Renewable Investments to develop projects in this area in the country. This consortium is a leader in offshore wind energy, with a total portfolio of approximately 1.25 GW of floating wind energy projects in Galicia (Nordés Park), Catalonia (Tramuntana Park), and the Canary Islands (Tarahal Park).

Retail

We operate in the Spanish and Portuguese retail markets as suppliers of electricity and gas, as well as offering self-consumption solutions, with a well-established business development and extensive territorial presence. We provide tailored solutions for every sector, from households to businesses.

  • Electricity and gas supply
  • Maintenance services
  • Self-consumption for households and SMEs

E-mobility

Our commitment also takes shape through the development of electric mobility: we offer charging solutions for both home and on-the-road use. We support our customers with On the Road charging services and a dedicated app, aiming to enhance accessibility and ease of use.

Our most important partnerships

La Vuelta

We have sponsored La Vuelta, one of the most important cycling events in the world, for three consecutive years. The 2024 edition marked the third year of our involvement as the main sponsor and Energy Partner, ensuring the charging of electric vehicles used by the race organizers accompanying the La Vuelta 24 team. We also sponsored the White Jersey for the best young rider in each stage, encouraging young cyclists and promoting their growth in the sport.

Energía para cada etapa

In 2024, we went beyond simply sponsoring La Vuelta 24 with the initiative “Energía para cada etapa” (Energy for Each Stage). During the various phases of the cycling event, we developed this project to highlight rural heritage: we sought to convey the energy generated in each stage, connecting people and celebrating life in rural Spain. To achieve this, we selected five villages crossed by La Vuelta 24, capturing the energy and essence of each through the inhabitants in short films that reflected the identity of each village. These films were later screened as summer cinema, powered by energy from a solar panel. All the short films were compiled into a final documentary highlighting the soul of La Vuelta and its impact on rural society.

  • Primavera Sound

For the third consecutive year, we have been a partner of this event, providing certified electricity through Guarantees of Origin as produced and fed into the grid from renewable sources for the Barcelona and Porto editions. This has further strengthened our commitment to promoting a culture of conscious energy use in the entertainment industry.

  • Piano City

In June in Madrid and in September in Lisbon, we promoted engagement with musical culture through 90 free concerts open to the public, emphasizing sustainability and inclusion, with an estimated attendance of 40,000 people.

  • Liga ASOBAL

As part of our commitment to sports, in 2023, we entered into a strategic sponsorship agreement with the Association of Spanish Handball Clubs (ASOBAL). This agreement associates our name with competitions organized by ASOBAL: the League, the ASOBAL Cup, and the Minicup for three seasons.

  • Real Club Racing de Santander

Beyond strictly sporting matters, this sponsorship is a commitment to the city of Santander and its residents: it aims to support the city, with sports as the central axis, where the headquarters of Plenitude Iberia is located.
